Thank you for your concern for my son. Health wise, he's doing well, however pottery sales are very depressed. Our main concern is future health effects, but several reports I've read, including the link I posted today, has allayed our fears.

As to your headline on Romney's 15% tax rate, I have a "so what" opinion. As long as it's legal, I would do the same.  I've always taken all the write offs I'm allowed, as you also probably have done.
Another take I have is:  Warren Buffet, #2 on the wealthiest Americans list, at $39 billion, a much admired person on this blog, pays 15%. He complains that he should pay more, but he doesn't. On top of this, he avoids taxes on at least a third of his income. Romney, on the other hand, worth 1/125th, $250 million, less than 1/4 of the #400 wealthiest Americans list, makes his money, pays his taxes, and is not a hypocrite as Buffet is.

America is a great land. Look at the money followers of this blog make without working!! Capitalism is not a perfect system, but it's far better than any other. Socialism has been a failure throughout history. The more people can take from our taxes without earning it, the less ambition they have. ( Please don't give me the crap about Firemen, or Soldiers; I'm not talking about hard working anybody.)

I have several relatives and friends who are immigrants here from former socialist countries, and I'm amazed at how hard they work and how successful they've become. I ask them why, and they say they are amazed at the opportunity here, unlike the countries they came from. I've also have talked to many new immigrants from Greece ( I belong to a Greek church) and get the same response. One gave me the joke I mentioned before:

Political Headline Just In - After getting blown up in the debate Romney admits he Pays 15% on his taxes. Romney's tax plan cuts even more for the wealthy.  He has a lower effective tax rate than our soldiers who fight and die.

Romney isn't paying ANY social sec. tax on those cap gains either.

Maybe I'm posting too much to read, however I found an enlightening article, fact based and not hysterical on Fukushima disaster on Frontline doc. It's interesting on the after effects of nuke disaster that has not been covered: there are no easy solutions to replacing Nuke plants.

Jobs is the critical election issue and Huntsman, a fellow Republican, has told us that while Romney was governor of MA he was #47 in job creation.

His claims as a job creator are falling each day as Bain comes under scrutiny. He originally said he creaded more jobs than Obama, flipped to 100,000 jobs flipped to 10,00 of thousands, finally flipped to thousands.

How do you trust a guy who flips more times than a short order chef at a burger joint.

JS - You are distorting what I said. They view MOST American's as cowboys. This comes from Texan George Bush's expansionist foreign policy. Most Europeans don't want to be the world's policeman.

Most of the posts here have been ridiculing and distorted. This article is an informative one, with both positive and negative info, without the distortions seen here, and on many leftist sites.

We've gotten a pretty distorted view of Romney by the main stream media (MSM) and his opponents in the primaries.
(Ewanapat gives a great example how the MSM distorts the public opinion, in today's comment that Europeans think of us as cowboys. With all the info on Obama admin, all the left wing blogs, all the news available,  they get this distorted view.)

He's been a highly successful: Business leader ( do not forget that some of the investors in Bain Capital receiving huge profits, were pension plans (some Public workers plans), and endowments); turned around the 2002 Winter Olympics; and as Governor, actually worked with the opposition. He also was a leader in his church and tithed (gave 10% of his income) to his church; and brought together various diverse religious groups to work together. This is a short list of his positive results, to try to put facts out there, not the ridiculing comments we keep reading.
At least, if you're making up your mind, you deserve a full view, not a one sided view. I've mentioned many times, if we did what we do when we invest in stocks to how we make up our minds in politics, we would all be better off. An informed voter will make us a better nation.

I sold my JPM last puts this AM at 53. Still have the calls and this looks like a loosing trade. Still in GS combination trade. However, if you want to enter this combination trade wait for a better price - closer to earnings release. Happy trading

Another word on what's a conservative. Europeans view most Americans as right wing cowboys. They and pretty much the rest of the world see almost all Americans as very far to the right.

That's right Romneey was #47 in job creation while he was governot of Massachusetts and Huntsman was at the top while he was governor. The photo was amazing scary,but what they want to do with the internet is scarier.
